Catered Events

When you want all the details taken care of for you, call on our catered events service. With a fully customizable menu, setup, cleanup, catering staff on site throughout the event, and an unparalleled knowledge of University policies, Campus Catering makes it easy to organize a memorable event.

Planning Your Event

We highly recommend placing your catered event order at least two weeks in advance. If you need catering at short notice, please contact an event planner by phone for assistance.

Catered events require a minimum of 25 guests and are based on two hours of service. Service time beyond 2 hours will be charged accordingly.

An event planner will help you determine quantities of food and beverages based on your expected number of guests. In order to best serve your guests, we ask that you provide a final guaranteed number of guests to your event planner 3 business days before the event. All increases, decreases, and cancellations should be made 3 business prior to the event. 

Menu items are subject to price changes and availability. 

Guests are not permitted to take any leftover food, beverages, condiments, or paper products from the premises of any catered event.

What We Provide

All catered events include complete compostable service, Penn State blue & white buffet linens (other color schemes my be substituted at an additional cost) and catering staff on site for the duration of the event. Catered events carry a catering fee of $2.95 per guest plus an 18 percent service charge. 

Serviceware, Waste & Left-Overs

Catered menus include the necessary compostable or re-usable serviceware for your event. All plates, cutlery, napkins, and cups can be sent to Penn State’s composting facility for disposal. Please ensure that your venue or facility has the appropriate waste receptacles in place for your event. Campus Catering does not remove waste due to our sanitation standards in our food-service vehicles.

China, silverware, stemware, and tablecloth service can also be provided for an additional fee.

University and state health code policies: Guests are not permitted to take left-over food, beverages, serviceware, or other supplies with them post-event. Guests are not permitted to supply their own food or beverages at any event for which Campus Catering provides service.

Any alcoholic beverages provided at an event must be supplied and served by Campus Catering. Please contact your event planner regarding bar service at your event.

Event Equipment

Campus Catering can assist you with your equipment rentals. Let your event planner know what your table, chair, linen and other equipment needs are and we will coordinate the rental, setup, and removal of all the equipment. For outdoor events, please consult with your event planner for price quotes on tents, tables, chairs, linen, and other equipment.

Please consult with your facility or venue regarding our needs for buffet and beverage tables. Your event planner with Campus Catering can provide you with our specific needs. We can also supply buffet and beverage tables as an add-on charge.

Cancellations

Given the preparation of food and staffing for your event will have already started, any order cancelled with less than 3 business days will be charged the full price. Cancellations due to official campus closures may be rescheduled within 3 business days.
